Yoga is the art of doing everything with the consciousness of God. Not only when you are meditating, but also when you are working, your thoughts should be constantly anchored in Him. If you work with the consciousness that you are doing it to please God, that activity unites you with Him. Therefore do not imagine that you can find God only in meditation. Both meditation and right activity are essential, as the Bhagavad Gita teaches. If you think of God while you perform your duties in this world, you will be mentally united wth Him.

Greetings!

The summer is almost upon us. That means both the SRF Youth Summer Day Program (June/July) and SRF World Convocation (August) are rapidly approaching. There is still time to register your child for the Summer Day Program in Encinitas. Go to

www.yogananda.org to register and request a scholarship to help defray the cost of attendance if needed. You can also still register for Convocation via the same website. Both of these events will surely be spiritually uplifting occasions for all who attend.

This week we are putting new carpeting in the social room and book room. Thank you to all those who were able to assist us this past Sunday with preparing for the carpet installers.

This month we have our monthly potluck social, a Women’s Work Retreat at Greenfield, and the annual Family Picnic at Greenfield as well. Please see more details in the newsletter about these special events.

Monthly Potluck Social

All are warmly invited to our monthly potluck social on June 10th. Please bring a vegetarian entree (pre-warmed to at least room temperature to facilitate more efficient food service), fruit juice, or dessert, if you plan to attend.

Greenfield Events

Women’s Work Retreat: June 15-16

Annual Family Picnic: June 23

The SRF Greenfield retreat in Front Royal, Virginia, will have a Women’s Work Retreat from June 15-16. Please contact Greenfield directly (540-635-5066) if you wish to attend.

Greenfield’s annual Family Picnic will take place on June 23rd, from 3:30-7:30 pm, with an International Day of Yoga theme. If you plan to attend, please be sure to add your information to the sign-up sheet in the Center lobby for food coordination.

Long Meditations This Month

We will have 3-hour meditations every Sunday evening from 6:00-9:00 pm. The June 3rd meditation will also include kirtan chanting. There will also be a 5-hour guided meditation on June 30th from 10:00-3:00 pm.
