Long Meditations

Long meditations of four to five hours in length are held monthly on a Saturday. We ask that you please enter or exit during a chant or reading so as not to disturb others. Please see Group Meditation Guidelines.

10:00 am-2:00 pm4-Hour Meditation*March, June, September is a 5-Hour Guided Meditation and ends at 3:00 pm

*Energization Exercises: The 4(or 5)-hour meditation begins with group practice of the Energization Exercises (optional).

January, first Saturday following January 5 (may vary)

10:00 am-5:30 pmParamahansa Yogananda Commemorative MeditationHonors Paramahamsa Yogananda’s birthday. Meditation interspersed with readings and chanting. There is a half-hour break about mid-way through.

December, first or second Saturday (may vary)

10:00 am-5:30 pmAll-Day Christmas MeditationParamahansa Yogananda began the tradition of celebrating a “spiritual Christmas” with an all-day meditation, in addition to the social celebration of Christmas on December 25th. The meditation includes inspirational readings, meditation, listening to recordings by our Guru and his advanced disciples, and singing Christmas songs and hymns. There is a half-hour break about mid-way through. (see Christmas Meditation Guidelines).

New Year’s Eve

11:30 pm-12:15 amNew Year’s MeditationParamahansa Yogananda encouraged devotees to use this meditation to reflect on the previous year and think how to achieve in the New Year deeper attunement with God and the Gurus, and harmony with each other.

The moment you realize that in all other pursuits it was God you were seeking, then you are on the path toward your Infinite Home.
