Dissolving forever our finitude, together we shall merge in the Infinite Life
O Immortal Teacher, I bow to thee as the speaking voice of silent God. I bow to thee as the divine door leading to the temple of salvation. .."

Dear Friends,
We thank you again for all your support and service to our Center
over the past year. Considering we are just coming out of a
great recession we are happy to see our building fund has gone over
$153,000 recently which is just what we need to complete Phase I of the new building renovation project. We hope to be in the new building before the end of this year. Please review this newsletter and mark your calendars for the special events and opportunities to mediate and have fellowship with the DC Center's members.

Mother's Day Special Event
Saturday, May 8th, 6:00-8:30 pm
We will have a special Mother's Day Building Fund Raising social event in our upstairs space on Saturday May 8th from 6-8:30 PM. Musical entertainment by members of the Center and dinner will be provided. The recommended donation is $18. All proceeds will be donated to the Washington DC Building Fund. There will be a drawing for a surprise gift. Tickets are available in the bookroom. Advance purchases or RSVP's are needed to determine the amount of food to prepare. Swami Sri Yukteswar Birthday Commemoration Service
Monday, May 10, 2010 7:30-8:45 pm
We will hold a special service commemorating the birthday of our Paramguru, Swami Sri Yukteswarji on Monday May 10 starting at 7:30 pm. Please bring a flower and a donation in an envelope as symbols of your loyalty and devotion to the SRF Gurus. Extra flowers and envelopes are available in the lobby on a donation basis. All who can attend with reverence and devotion as well as understand the Guru-disciple relationship are welcome.

Inspirational Service
We are very blessed to have Sister Venita and Bni Alvira leading our service this day starting at 7:30 pm. Services led by Monastics are very special and we encourage all to attend to experience these events. The nuns will then head on to Greenfield to lead the Women's Only retreat. All are welcome to attend.

Special Meditations this Month
3 Hour Meditation with Kirtan, Sunday May 2 and 4-hour Meditation, Saturday May 15.
We will have a 3-hour Meditation with Kirtan on Sunday May 2, from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm. This meditation includes during the first hour 15 minutes of chanting with indian instruments alternating with periods of meditation.
The 4 hour meditation will be on Saturday May 15 starting at 10:00 am and ending at 2:00 pm.
All are welcome.

Greenfield Women's Only Retreat May 21-23, 2010

This retreat is open to Kriyaban and SRF women students nd will be led by Nuns from the SRF headquarters in Los Angeles Ca. It begins on Friday evening and ends Sunday at Noon. If you are interested in attending, please contact Greenfield at 540-635-5062. or click on the picture to be taken to the Greenfield website for more information. The retreats are offered on a donation basis and includes review of the SRF lessons techniques, meditations, chanting and more. Space is limited.
